We’re in season 2 now and well into it so it’s kind of easy to forget how it all started, we thought I’d give you a quick rehash to where it all began…

A teenage boy is lying on a forest floor. Naked. Kyle XY looks around at his surroundings, unsure of what he is actually seeing. A rattle snakes lunges at him to attack. He grabs it by the neck and stops it hissing.

Every species is born with instincts that create a balance with nature, all except the species Kyle was born into.

Walking through the forest Kyle comes across many things that are alien to him, like two people having sex in a tent. Making his way through the city Kyle eventually and inevitably gets arrested and sent to a Juvenile Detention Centre where he meets Nicole – his saviour.

After examining Kyle’s unusual tendencies – he seems to be unable to speak, his innocent mimicking but most of all, smooth skin where his belly button should be – Nicole takes him home to meet her family.

Stephen her husband – the astute business man very reluctant to have a ‘problem case’ in the house, Lori the party and boy crazy teenage daughter and Josh her young son, at an age where reading dirty magazines in the bathroom is essential.

After so many unexplainable and amazing incidents – fixing Stephen’s computer, saving Lori, outsmarting the cop and all the mimicking – Nicole decides that Kyle needs special care and should stay with her family instead of being shipped off to state care.

She tells her family of her plan and they don’t react well but once they all sit down for dinner that night young Josh pours Kyle an iced tea while Lori tenderly piles his plate with vegetables.--
